Default .370 and .470 GONE

After almost 20 years and a lot of pain and dollars the super class tree goes back to the way it used to be before LED's.

The tree never should have been changed in the first place! we got screwed because of a bunch of crying pros
there was a lot of money spent to make cars hit these numbers. Corvette roadster’s became the norm after the 3.70 tree

Wonder how many racers spent a lot of $ over the winter trying to make their cars hit the quicker tree or make their back half cars competitive in S/G? If they were considering the change it should have been done with months of notice, NHRA is so out of touch with sportsman racers it’s pathetic.

I only spent around $6000.00 building a new front suspension. I parked everything in 2011 because of the .470 tree. I saw many of the heavier Super Gas cars that struggled as well.

I don't know much about the .90 classes but don't all the cars use delay boxes? NHRA seems to think so:

"What does this change mean to the racer? Simply stated, anyone with a delay box can add .03 to their normal delay and be ready to go."

It's all fine now. Yes we will just add numbers. back when they changed it to .370 and .470 it hurt a bunch of racers. I resorted to bumping in for awhile until I just parked mine until I could be competitive.

A little history lesson .
Before the LED lamps came to the .400 Pro tree how did racers get good lights ?
They worked on making themselves and their cars better . We spent money and time making our cars WORK .
Long before LED lamps I and many others nearly always had delay in to go green .
The LED lamps made us the approximately .030 quicker because they were not only brighter , they came on instantly where the incandescent lamps required more focus to "see" the filament start to come on .
Instantly racers who were .030-.040 on the tree instantly became .00 and teen players .and those of us who worked at it just added delay.
Because Pro Stock motorcycles and some ProStock cars were frequently redlighting on the .400 LED tree ,a compensation factor was introduced for all the Pro categories and since the Super classes raced on a Pro tree the compensation was also applied to us as well.
What happened to the lights in the Super classes ? things went right back to where they were with the incandescent lights ,
So now what will happen with the move back to a .400 tree ? Those same racers that are .030 -.040 on the tree will become .00 -teen players , now those of us who ran .030-.040 delay dont have to add delay. Why ? now we can make our cars even more consistent and deadly by softening up the launch running bigger front tires and make even more MPH by tightening the converter.
