CORRECT! They need more cars. If Current Sanctioning Body doesn't wiseup they'll get them! Love NHRA but S/SS isn't a tiddleywink race or a Super Bellybutton either! Its the STANDARD BADA$$ SHOWDOWN GRASSROOTS PRECIDENT CATAGORY! PERIOD! ASK MEYER!

I cant remember. I ran the Bradenton NMCA event this year. It was well run and a good time. It was all NHRA racers there in SS. The indexes are the old IHRA indexes so a bit slower than NHRA. There was about 25 SS cars there so not much chance for a heads up. I will run there again next year if they have that race again. The program is a bit different from what we are used to and it moves quickly. No dragsters there either.

Yes NMCA does have heads up races. The only stipulation is you can't run more than a tenth quicker that you qualified.

Maybe if a pair of class cars are together they both can dial 8.50 and be safe from breaking out or dragging the brakes. Or just dial match your opponent.

I may be wrong but I think the open comp class has a tenth breakout. You get 3 qualifying runs. They DIAL you in on your quickest run minus 1 tenth. If you run quicker then you breakout.
