Default Independence Day

Happy birthday to the U.S.A.!

My father took me to my first drag race the 4th of July weekend in 1969 or '70 at Connecticut Dragway to see a funny car show that featured "Jungle" Jim Liberman and "Miss STP" Paula Murphy and many others. There were also many Modified, Stock and Super Stock cars that day and it was awesome.

Alas there are no scheduled events this weekend. How do guys feel about that?

We h a d Korbel sponsored 4th events at Sonoma, usually with a divisional…no more.. Enter sad face..
I’ll look at Redding and Sacramento schedules for brackets/testing but I don’t think they are running. Pretty sad state..

A friend took me to my first drag race, believe it was July 4th, 1973 at Northstar Dragway in Minneapolis, featuring Don Garlits and TV Tommy Ivo match race including night time flame burnouts as tall as the tower! Awesome! Hooked for life...
