Who moves next to a drag strip or an airport then complains?
Airheads! I would imagine there were meetings ?? With all the disclosures up front they knew what they are getting into and that makes it harder to complain because “ you knew going in” !

As a racer, I would worry less about complaints from the housing areas that are creeping upon the facility, and more about a developer making the Bandimere's an offer for the facility in an amount that could not be refused. Homes in the location of the current facility would bring a large sum.

It's Jefferson County! They want taxes from development. They have been pushing hard and during Covid were pulling every dirty trick they could. Welcome to the New Liberal World!

The same people who move in a farming community, and then complain that it smells like *****, the animals make noise early in the morning, and the farmers have slow moving tractors on the roads.
