Default Your thoughts on new WDRA for S/SS classes

Anybody have any thoughts on the new WDRA and how stock and super stock will fit in their programs? I am surprised at the high number of tracks they have signed up already.

It would be nice if they had a pro am series like IHRA used to have. With stock SS the super categories and the top cars would be nice. I would support it if there were tracks close enough. I highly doubt that will happen though.

You know, sometimes we think everybody should be all in on the classes
that we love. The sanctioning bodies don't care what Classes are run, as long as it help their tracks make money, and allows them to make money
on their Divisional or National or "Special Events". Perhaps we could approach them on having 1 Stock/Super Stock Event for each of their Divisions, or geographical areas, however they break it down. Then, and only then, if we attended in very good numbers, that gave them a return on
investment, could we then ask for more. Some areas have large numbers of Stockers and Super Stockers, some are strong on Top Dragster/Sportsman,
etc. It doesn't have to be one size fits all across the nation. If we could be beneficial to the WDRA, they could in turn benefit us with SOME races. I don't think the old PRO-AM format fits today in all areas, but it could be tailored to work in todays vast amount of classes across the regions.

I think it could work like the independent series such as Can Am here in Canada operate. Stock S/S presents themselves as a package with their own rules, tech, their own ladders and prize structure. Works well here.

I didn't know if WDRA was going to be a full sanctioning body or an approved alternate series like NMCA or PDRA. But with the number of major tracks like MIR and US131 signing up, it must be the real thing. What is going to happen to the newly-purchased IHRA now that they are losing so many tracks?

Does anyone know who is running this? I haven't seen anything about that in this post. I heard Empire and Beaver Springs are also on board. Bill Taylor B/S 1005.
