That was a great running car! What was the whole engine combination?
It was a stock 5.0 block, with a 3.25" stroke Eagle crank and rods, with flatop pistons. Cam was a solid flat tappet Comp Cams (.560ish lift, 252@.050 duration), out of the box AFR 185 heads, Victor Jr. intake & 650 DP Holley. Set of cheap 1 5/8" FlowTech long tube headers, Used a Jerico DR4, and 4.88 gears in the 8.8, with 9x29" Hoosier slicks. Dumped the clutch at 62-6400 RPM, shifted at 6800, 7000 at the finish line. Now running a "big bore" 347 SBF, (4.125"x3.25", Dart block), flat top pistons, smallish hyd. roller cam, AFR 185 heads, Parker Funnel Web intake with a Holley 750. Same headers, clutch, but switched the Jerico for a G Force G101A 4 speed, gone a best of 10.01 at 133 mph in my 78 Fairmont (2900 pounds), bracket car, still mid 1.3 60 foots.
