On my 85 Mustang, 302 4 barrel 4 speed, using 9x29, and 9 x 29 1/2 slicks, I ran both 4.88s and 5.13s.

One thing to remember, the Z304D heads have raised exhaust ports compared to the windsor heads which most off the shelf headers are designed for, Rusty Hall has a 352 powered FGT/G 92 Mustang, maybe check with him. Nick Morris also has a FGT 98 mustang with a 352 CJ engine.
