So you can do that? Have non legal parts, go 1.20+ under, change eliminator and still keep racing at that race?
Really? |

He may have went to them and said he wanted to re tech and they probably made him pay an entry, I doubt they caught him and let him re enter BUT the truth will be on here later i"m sure

The car in the picture had I/SA on the window. Was the intake the wrong casting number, a 968 or a 301 are the only two listed for the '64 383 or was it a SS intake.

They’ve run the same car in SS/JA previously with an Edelbrock single plane intake. I truly believe this was an honest mistake and the driver, when he was told by another racer that he had the incorrect casting on the engine, self-reported himself to NHRA and was permitted to reclassify into SS.

Is this the new standard for tech? An infraction in Tech or a 1.20 under run, and you get a mulligan? Will this be applied evenly or on a case by case basis? So if I commit a 1.20 under infraction in qualifying so I get to change class or just ask to the tech department to DQ me for the race? So I keep my HP down? Now that there is no 1.20 instant after this year this is a moot point.
Is there any penalties anymore for rule infraction anymore? This is becoming a disturbing trend. Quote:

I believe that this was an honest mistake, Joe is
not a full time racer. All of you that are complaining give him a break, as soon as he was told it was wrong he reported to NHRA. He was not trying to cheat, he did not know that manifold was no longer legal. Why is nobody bitching about the 305 engine that was never offered in a Camaro but NHRA let it run all year? |

I’m sure he is a good guy and and salt of the earth. If you don’t apply the rules evenly and without prejudice that’s a problem. Do we need a court of
opinion now before any rules are enforced? Who decides on who is a good guy and who is not? Is that the new standard? Quote:
