HP tuners do not make a unit for the 3800 engine, but I did find one at PCT (performance chip tuning) that is just what we were looking for in their Stage 2 performance chip. simple plug and play. This unit actually works on both the V8 or V6. They were very helpful.

Hmmmmm, they support my 1999 Buick 3800.
