And the racers that run your same class. That don't work on their cars to go faster nor will spend the money it may also take will have a nice big smile on their face as they get that much closer to you. And you can say Thanks AFHS. Last edited by B Parker; 12-22-2022 at 06:03 PM. |

Someone on one of the post said they talked to the person in charge of making the change to the AHFS. That he received a bunch of phone calls about the last change and decided to change it again. What's a bunch of phone calls. Fifty ,sixty. There are a thousand plus of us that have Stock Eliminator cars. So the 350/255 Hp 1969 Chevy was mentioned as an example. Racers with that combo played the go slow to keep your average down game and didn't get HP. Good for them. I like to take a look at Indy without the AHFS in play. You don't get all of the different combo's there but you do get quite a few. Take the H/SA class. When was the last time a 255 Hp 350 has won it? That class has been dominated the last almost ten years by a 305 chevy. I don't think that combo should get HP either. Rod and Chris have spent a lot of time and money to get their car to go that fast. It's my opinion that this last change to the AHFS is a JOKE and a SLAP in the face to any of us that still care about making our cars one of the fastest in the class that they run. BP

Hi Duane,,some of Joe's data was obtained from National Opens which I think dont count for AHFS consideration. My 1.179 was purposely done under mineshaft conditions. 2023 no mineshaft so this ET will never happen again along with a class win,,unless things happen a certain way. Divisional and National wins are more important than a class win,,for us,,got one. Haven't seen Dan,Joe,Allison and many others worry about a class win as much as the real Wally's. I never would have thought how much a Divisional Wally means till we won two.

Hey Larry, It used to be more important to me than it is now. I'd rather not take the HP hit. At Indy without the AHFS in play I will try hard. This year I had 2 left feet and a car that broke something on every run. It's going to be interesting trying to get into the Gator Nationals not knowing when they will open the web site. If I'm fast on the computer and able to get in I will see you at the Baby Gators. And I will not run faster than .85 under if I can help it unless they change the AHFS. Hope you and Patsy have a great Christmas. Thanks to both of you putting in the effort threw the years keeping us posted on what's happening at races we weren't able to make it to. Barry

Hi Larry,, I know a class win you get a real class winner Wally,,my point for me is,,I ain't hurting my index for a class winner Wally. I have one class win from the Baby Gators and I'm very proud of it,but I've talked to many racers that would love to win a Divisional Wally and give up their class Wally's.
Some Dragracers only focus on a class win and are happy with that,,god bless them,,but we travel to much and hopefully I can save my index until my final,,heads up at a National. And Duane Hoven,,you dont think that the folks at NHRA dont look at 660' increments. Merry Christmas everyone!!! Hope Santa bring you lots of joy and happiness!!! And some,,,lots of beer!! |

Tim, I know it doesn't count, I went 1.10 under at the Dutch too, But that doesn't mean NHRA doesn't look at those numbers, they just can't use it in their rules in AHFS. Don't think they don't look at those numbers and take note.
