Default Re: 4 into 1 step or Try-Y headers for a stocker

The difference between 4 into 1 headers (no question, at least one step is necessary) with good merge collectors, and 4-2-1 or "tri-y" headers is found in what you can do with the camshaft. The two types of headers require entirely different camshafts. You literally develop your camshaft to compliment the headers, and they're to radically different camshaft programs. Choose a header style that you like, but make sure you have access to someone who can help you make the right camshaft choices.

For every person you find who says that a tri-y is fastest, you'll find at least one person with a fast car who says the 4 into 1 is as fast or faster.

Good luck. Open your wallet.
