Addiction Being The Opt Word Alright !!!! I still believe you can have 128 car fields at Gainesville. Most people that race the Baby Gators would stay for the Nationals. I’ve said this before, you have a 128 qualified field and run First Rd Off on the Monday before the National event leaving 64 cars to run the following weekend. It’s only 6 rds.

Ya know Barry, this^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ is one of the biggest issues that I have with the NHRA and it's members. I doubt very much that you would hire a contractor to paint your house not knowing if his company is solvent. Or a little closer to home, if you would hire an engine builder not knowing if he's going to be around next week. NHRA has to file a financial report every year and the Racers, as NHRA members/business partners should be aware of this.

Barry, you don't have to "file" anything. NHRA's tax returns are available on line thru 2021. They spend a nice chunk on "executives". I would work for a whole lot less and I actually know a thing-or-two about Drag Racing!

Billy not that this has anything to do with drag racing but it shows what others are willing to pay. When Roger Goodell's contract was up the last time. I said if they listed that job for about 5 million they would have a line 5 miles long with people just as qualified or more than him. The NFL owners pay him 63.9 million plus perks. Crazy I'd do it for a few million less BP

NHRA 2019 Tax Return
Summary of additional years' returns I'm no accountant but going from 90M+ in revenues for prior years to 39M in 2020 probably causes some puckering. |

They bounced back pretty well in 2021.
No, they didn't. My bad.
