I have seen a few customers had the shop here mill a groove on each lifter. It doesn't need much, seems like it was only 3 thousands deep. Also a issue with Comp lifters and SBC dart block. If you don't groove them, keep a eye on the amount of oil under your valve covers............

Last answer from Jesel tech! Use bushing from us , and if your are installing bushings you will not need to machine the flat on the lifter.
