I thought about calling them, thanks for the input. I'll talk to them and see what they think.

When I think of Hemis and Michigan I think of Charlie Wescott.

Militia Racing Products:

CHARLIE WESTCOTT
517 531 3430
10420 COUNTY FARM RD, PARMA MI. 49269
MILITIAPRODUCTS@GMAIL.COM
I'm sure Charlie's plenty busy with all of his customers with engine programs. He is without a doubt one of the best Hemi builders anywhere, but I'm not sure I could afford him and I'm really not looking for a complete engine program. I like to assemble my own stuff, really just looking to get some high quality machine work done.

Try Tony DiPillo in Cincinnati area Specialty Motorwerkes Honkin Hemi.
He’s on Facebook search Tony DiPillo tell him Dan DeBlasio recommended you.
I love Tony's car, I didn't realize he was an engine builder/machinist. I'll reach out to him and see what's up.

Thank you everyone for the responses, appreciate it very much!

Is Best Machine still going? They were around Detroit and specialized in Mopar motors.

Yep, Chuck and Pete are still going. I'm not sure they do any S/SS stuff, but it's worth a call to find out. Thanks!

Best Machine has closed its doors. Good with big Mopars, not tuned into Class stuff.

Hmm, see them posting dyno pulls on Facebook regularly. Did this just happen?

Forget "local" and find the best one. Call Steve Wann and leave the rest to him.

I don't disagree, having Steve involved would be awesome. The problem I have is the last time I sent a brand new hemi block, heads and a crank, all new in the box far away states from me they disappeared for like 6+ years.

I never got them back, and years later got a few sets of heads and a raised cam siamese bore block as compensation. It destroyed my dreams of having a car together to race while I was still young. I've owned this car for 30 years and I'm almost 60, this is my last shot at this. So the thought of sending another new hemi block, heads, crank and so on 2500+ miles away scares me.

Sorry for the novel, I just wanted to clear up why the desire for a local shop.
