Open Random Pairing vs Ladder Poll

Look at it this way: It's much harder to position yourself on the ladder when you are racing for your qualifying position. After first round, it could potentially lead to MORE heads up races.

I understand I am in the minority here voting to leave it random 1st rd.

At Atco there were 63 qualifiers, I counted only 53 showing up for 1st round. potentially 10 singles 1st round if they did not do the random pairings

Same thing at the Fall Classic at Indy Dave. A lot of no shows. They call Stock to the lanes and as soon as 10 pairs or more show up they start running pairs down the track.That gets the rest of the cars up there fast.
