What is the best playback tach to purchase. Trying to stay under $425. I see that most of them do not come with a shift light?

To me, the best playback tach hands down is the 5" VDO Extreme. Really easy to record and playback, and it can even be re-calibrated. They were offered with either a black or white dial face. Unfortunately, it was discontinued years ago but you may be able to find one on Ebay or Racing Junk.

I use an Autometer Ultimate and am extremely happy with it.
It allows you to log the driveshaft speed and, if you buy the sensors, one pressure and O2. I do not use the O2 feature as I have that on my MSD Grid, but I do log my oil pressure. Unfortunately, it is a little more than your budget.

I like the Autometer Playback. It always lets me see how late I was on the 1-2 shift
