Thank you, Ed, for sharing this article.

John Force needs to take care of himself and be there for his family/friends and sponsors. He has nothing to prove to anyone, he has done it all. Came from humble beginnings and has achieved greatness in the drag racing world.

In listening to John talk lately, he has become a very grateful and more humble person, in my opinion. Jack Beckman, in my opinion, is the perfect choice to occupy the seat of John's funny car. I guess it is Jack's car now.

Just my .02 cents.

Glad to see he is getting better---He knows it and so do those around him know it but he will never drive a funny car ever again-he just has to accept that fact--no Doctor will ever sign a release to allow him to drive-- also Jack Beckman should be continuously monitored for his touch with Vertigo where he had to withdraw from a race this summer--- It ( Vertigo)NEVER fully goes away it might subside for a bit only to appear in an instant -Next time he might be going 330 MPH when it kicks in--I speak from experience I have had Vertigo for over 20 years and mine has progressed to Meniere's Disease. In the beginning it started to be brief spells maybe for a few seconds then as time passed the attacks would happen more frequently and for longer duration--- your balance becomes all screwed up and you stagger when you walk plus dizziness gets worse--- One of the questions the medical physical is have you had dizzy spells ---He better be careful how he answers that question---FED 387

I have suffered with Meniere's Disease for years and can agree fully that you should hope that you are never afflicted. Your description of your Dad's inability to lay on his back and work on a car without nausea matches my experiences and has effectively forced me to retire from racing. Best of luck to you in dodging the bullet.

John should look at people like Richard Childress, Rick Hendrick, Junior Johnson, and Roger Penske that went on to bigger things after their racing careers ended.

Saw today the Hight won't be back either. They signed Austin Prock to a 3 year contract.
