I like you Alan but he can’t, won’t and neither will the others and it’s not talking they do, it’s comment and name calling about me, my opinions and my advice.

Again…

Wrong, stop lying!

There are currently 20 threads on page 1 of this forum of which I have replied to only 5 of them, which is 25%, a far cry from “virtually every post” and 3 of those 5 threads I replied to ran their course without being derailed by the vocal minority of which you are one frank, that only reply to comment about me, my opinions and advice.

You are part of the problem not part of the solution. You too only replied to this thread to comment about me, not to offer your opinion, your advice to the OP!

If we remove every reply about me starting with #9, this thread runs its course and falls by the wayside without much interest.

Take note also that my original reply, post #7 was Liked by
chopperloco and James Perrone

So you see frank all your and others cries for moderation, more to the point for 1320racer to be banned, are your and the rest that only reply to a thread to comment about me, doing because you and a few others don’t like my opinions, don’t like my advice because I don’t compete in stock eliminator.

AGAIN, the clown that derailed this thread starting at post #9, a nobody, a computer programmer, a clueless old man who never raced and that no one here with a clue gives him, nor his malarkey the time of day has replied again to comment about me.

Pathetic old fool who's days are running out on this rock yet he spends them here, on a forum he has no first hand knowledge and experience of the topics being discussed.

So to put a bow on and wrap this thread up, the OP asked for advice and opinion and I replied offering mine and this is the list of those who did NOT reply to the OP, rather replied to my opinion and advice…

Stan Weiss who started the derail
David Lee
67 Post GS
James Schaechter
Frank Castros
Gump
MR. DERBY CITY
1700camaro
Rory McNeil
ChevelleStocker

Billy Nees gets honorable mention because while he did offer the OP his opinion in post #6, once I posted my opinion in post #7, everyone of his replies after that was directed to/about me.

Thanks for that list.

So all of us think that your advice and opinions are at best misleading and at worst flat out wrong.

Does anyone think you posted up good advice and opinions?

Just so you know everyone's days are running out on this rock even yours.

Fwiw, I'd opt to the drag & drive.
Wish I saved everything I ripped out of my car 35 years ago to go fast.18 years old and just wanted to go fast.
Would be nice to just go for a drive instead of loading on a trailer.
It depends if you like the competition of racing or just cruising around and making some passes.
Have fun either way!

Thanks everyone for the replies. If I've stirred up a hornet's nest, I apologize for that. That was not my intention.

I got introduced into racing many years back helping the Ryan's with their racing program. Car maintenance and the thrashing to make it faster for class was always my calling. I have very fond memories of helping those friends. To my own determent, when I started racing a few years later, I never let go of that desire. I was always focused on going faster, even between rounds, than I was on the driving. Back then, trying to run with Div 5 people like Peter B and Glen D who ran in my classes was always my priority. When I moved out west it was the Irvings, Don Forester, and Jody Lang that I was chasing. That said, I do not ever see me racing in a class where I can't go full out, with my right foot the only means of controlling the cars performance. The thought of a throttle stop is just not appealing to me, at all.

I do not race for the possibility of winning money. I have no expectation to win or even go rounds. It has always been and probably always will be about the car performance for me. My stuff was never 1.20 under capable. At least not in the air I typically race in. But I could go 1 under in the air I race in. With exception of the paint and the engine machining, my car is all built by me. I have two complete engines with sleeved blocks, name brand internals, total seal rings with spacers, schubecks, and so on. Both engines have heads and intakes done by people who do these items for a living. I have two complete metrics, aluminum drums, low gear sets, and so on. Obviously, I need to reacquaint myself with a rule book. But it doesn't look like I would need to completely revamp my program.

Thanks again for the replies.

With that number of spares... I'd update the safety stuff, change fluids, and go racing. Get the car out and about, then improve upon it from there if you so desire.

Makes no sense to me that anyone would invest all this time, effort and $ without an expectation to win no mind win a round, but it doesn’t have to. Do what makes you happy.

Just one note, you do realize that the class you chose to build a car for is NOT a heads up class. Further, the guys that are winning races and championships in Stock Eliminator aren’t going “full out” in competition and are turning on the win light either with their foot off the gas pedal or on the brake pedal or a combination of both most every pass. Oh and they’re doing it as well in qualifying, playing the ladder game. My point is Stock Eliminator is no longer a run full out, pedal to the floor class and it wasn’t in 2015 either. It’s bracket race until you’re paired up with another car in your class(refer back to the ladder game) then it’s first to the finish line and that guy is usually the one that spent more $, a lot more money than you.

Good luck with your decision.
