Stockers are first when SST are not contested at Nats. Otherwise at all national events and divisionals, SST is first. I'm guessing the theory is the same with other comments. Lower hp, bigger tire, least likely to have incident do to cold/marginal race track.

[QUOTE=Chuck Weissberg;707501]Would've preferred stock not to have been the first out at Maple Grove this past October, our class was running 8.10s, and it was still in the 40s at 9am. But we know going in that we're first up, just have to plan accordingly.

I actually appreciate the perspective here. I have no sympathy for folks trying to go 175+ in SG trim that complain they can't get down on a marginal track, or factory stockers trying to go 140+ on a 9 inch tire. That's your choice, figure it out.

It doesn?t matter when stockers run. I am always parked beside the stocker guy who warms up at 6am and then floods my pit when he changes his water.

Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug.

Stock and super stock are my favorite classes because beautiful cars and the wheels up leaves. As long as a car sounds like it’s doing all it can do from the time the light turns green to the top end I don’t mind watching the slower cars I can’t stand watching throttle stop cars.
