Default Re: Comp cams

CWC is CWC Textron, the company that made a large quantity of the older, high quality cast cores. Since the OE's no longer order hundreds of thousands of them, there are no longer huge orders for the aftermarket camshaft companies to "tag along" with to get the cast cores at a good price, and, in fact, without the huge orders, it isn't really profitable to manufacture the cores in the smaller quantities. And the aftermarket cam companies have no desire to place huge orders, as they'd have a large inventory, and they want small inventories of "A" movers. That's why they don't even want to keep a full selection of the steel cores for rollers.

This is what happens when these "private equity" groups buy up our suppliers. Those people don't give a damn about us or our hobbies. They care about short term monthly profits.
