Well, then unless Robert Burgin won 1,199,000 in it, there's no way that car won over $1,200,000!!

There are some errors in that add. Fletch has the winningest car, his super stocker, and I don't know if he has cracked 1 million with that car. That car is not legal for ss/ga. It's ss/ha, ss/ia and ss/ja.

Last year, a "professional" sportsman racer told me that an NHRA divisional event win in his Super Stock car meant a $18,000 payday including contingency money. He takes full advantage of every possible contingency available. $1.2 million divided by $18k would be 67 division wins. While that would be a bunch, there'd also be divisional runner-ups, national event wins and runner-ups, regular bracket races and a few big money bracket races that could make reaching that figure with one car quite possible.

You are way off in your estimate of what you can win drag racing with an NHRA SS car.....Ed is right, the only way you could come away with that much money is with a gun......

Have to agree with Ed on that one. Bring a gun and leave the engine running. If you look at the listed cont. payout for a divisional here in Div II max is 12,800 in SS and that is before you remove duplicates for oil, converter, cam, tires, fuel, car make and others. Might get 9-10,000 total with every decal but 18,000 would be tough unless you have a sponsor who kicks in for a win.
