How many of those High Winding Hemi cars had a chance at winning? From what I observed there was only one other car close to the Wescotts' and it was a car with their engine. I would agree that there was more cars to see but the action was closer in the GT/AA class. Drop the Westcotts out of the SS/AH field and you have an exciting race. I mean come on, they had upward of an .10 to .15 hundreths advantage on the field.

GT/AA was certainly cool, newer models and Colin's Mustang was awesome, but might want to consider the high-horsepower 454s (and others) have no place to go. The Westcott's had SS/AH covered and did anybody notice how far Westcott Sr.'s stick car has came, he is within a whisker of Jr.'s auto car. SS/JA had the OEM war; a 1979 Aspen wins class, but the trophy could have went to Little's 'Cuda, O'Malley's 'Vette, or Terrell's Camaro |

I got to admit the GT/AA class run off's where way better then SS/AH, main reason you didnt have one car running away from everybody else ET wise like what was happening in SS/AH.Dont get me wrong i love the Hemi's, but it's not fun watching who is racing for second.
I was really thinking it was Colin or Bo's race, but we never race on paper. Another really great class run off was B/SA & G/SA in Stock, I was watching both those classes on Thursday. |
