There's already talk of VIPER being sold off, probably to a "small car company" (under 2500 cars per year, something compareable to Saleen or Shelby) as the CAFE standards get whacked pretty bad with Viper type vehicles. And I hate to say it but I've also heard you can slow down on saving your money on that Drag-Pack Challenger.

426 Max + 69 Camaro = fast car. Just kidding, but that would be one strange sounding Camaro. Nothing else sounds like a Max.

Reading the news about this in more depth,it seems that GM also was talking to Ford earlier about a possible merger.IMHO,it would make sense for GM to merge, acquire, buy out (or however you put it) Ford or Chrysler as GM would get rid of one of it's major competitors,as that would increase it's market share.Personally,I would rather the American "big three" stay the big three.

My dad has some very good friends within Chrysler and this is for real. He knew about this a while ago and we didnt believe the guy that told us. Certain things wont go away in this buyout, the HEMI being one of them.
If this happens does this mean I can run a 440 6 pack in a 68 Camaro in SSGT. Herb Jr |

So whats the big deal with GM and Chrysler merging. The real fun starts since Toyota made an offer for both of them. Stick that bowtie and penstar together and you've got an import.

The GM-Mopar merger reminds me of the discussion I had with a bank employee last week. Seems my local bank mergered with another bank in the eastern part of the state. When I asked about the merger, the teller explained to me how it would 'make the bank stronger'. I suppose the expression on my face must have tipped the girl off I wasn't happy. It reminded me of the same response a local farm equipment dealer said to me about three farm dealers merging.
I think when any two or more businesses merge, it decreases competition and creates a monopoly.Prime example: Exxon Mobil. With little or no competition, you can set your price. Hondas, Toyotas ect are competition, but the profits go outside the country.. Home Depot came to town with great prices. Now the few 'Mom and Pop' businesses that are still in business can match or beat their prices. If you think Exxon has huge profits, check out Monsanto. They own 22 different seed companys. High price of food? Small business will soon become extinct. Andy Stone |

Chrysler LLC's corperate Dealer Connect web site for dealers and technicians has a denial posted on the home page today and issued a statement to dealers on Saturday, which is highly unusual, dening the rumour. .......It does however confirm it has been in discussions with other companys looking at global partnerships. .....As a privately held company, they really don't have to disclose too much, and usually don't , so a comment from them like this shows it must be rubbing a nerve somewhere up the food chain. ......Tom ......PS Jack, did'nt you find the AMC badge I hid on the GTO?
