,MPR,

Thanks again for posting that info.

I'd be surprised if NHRA lets them run that hood scoop in Stock, but, money talks.... you know the rest.

Maybe I'll waltz on over to my local Dodge dealer to see what they have by way of ordering information RE the 360 Magnum motor, since it's on its way to becoming a museum piece. A weird situation, with that particular motor.

Bill,

The car as shown with Jeg driving it is what will be on the track.Think 68 Hemi car,but stock eliminator legal. It's a special race only package car.

Cool Re: Jeg jr. driving a MOPAR STOCKER

Doesn't anybody even look at their rule book anymore? (I said "anybody", not "everybody".)

On the first page of the NHRA Stock class section is this:

"OEM may apply for inclusion of any special production runs into the Official NHRA Stock Car Classification Guide. Special run must include a minimum of 50 units of an already accepted body style, need not be showroom available. Applications evaluated on an individual basis. Acceptance will not imply precedent."

This may mean that the OEM Challenger may be included in 2009, but specs and ratings need to be sorted out for those also.

Myron,

I think Bill is just bored and nit-picking the rule book and classification guides.

Well, I already admittied to nit-picking, if you read my earlier posts.... HOWEVER, I am often told that I cannot put a 340 (for Stock Eliminator) in my '72 Valiant 4-door since it's NOT IN THE CLASSIFICATION GUIDE, although any small block engine could be ordered in any chassis in 1972, according to three reference books I have.:.

These ersatz "Challengers" aren't in there, either...

But, I hope they are soon; I want badly, to see them run!!!

RE: "Applications evaluated on an individual basis. Acceptance will not imply precedent."

Translation: "Just because we do it for THEM doesn't mean we'll do it for YOU...." LOL!

Obviously these cars and drivetrains will make it to the class guide. They're on my order form with correct part numbers.

Very cool but does it ever look bulky with 15" wheels.
Any idea what the weight is? I've seen a road test on a street version where it was a whopping 4100 lbs.
I think with a 360 it would probably fit down to U/SA.

That's the key statement here, Bill...YOU are not an automaker. The factory could put whatever they wanted on this car - a flux capacitor, maybe - and it would STILL be a factory-built vehicle, and therefore eligible to be put in the classification guide. Doesn't matter what engine, what hood scoop, or what ashtray. I don't know how much simpler it can be.
