anyone else interested in getting something started. i know that the track in abilene has one, but however was trying to see about something more centrally located for guys in louisiana, arkansa, oklahoma, and mississippi. was thinking maybe either the new track going up in crandall if the owner is up to it or even no problem raceway. i think that the owner of that new track would be up for it because of being brand new and all. was thinking of starting with a one day race and see what happens. but would need to know how many guys are serious about this.
I know that i am a rookie and all but i think if we could get this thing rolling i think it would be a blast. like i said with me working at the fire station and all it is hard to do without any help. When I get a call, I have to stop what i am doing and respond to a emergency. but again i am willing to do what it takes to get this started, but would need to know how many guys are serious about doing this. If anyone has any other suggestions about tracks to have it at or payouts, or sponsors or any other ideas dont hesitate to email or call me. my email is kevintscott44@yahoo.com and my cell is 214-926-3913. My cell is the best way to get ahold of me. |

Kevin;
Gary, the announcer at State Capital (IHRA track 225-627-4574), told me he had talked to a couple of stock class racers about this several months ago. |

The ASRA just finished our 26th season of stock/ss racing. It can work, but it takes time to get established. The ASRA races average 55 cars and about 40 members a year. I can't say what will make it work for you guys, but pick a few tracks that are centrally located to the most class racers in the area and interested in working with you and give it a try. It's not easy and you can't imagine the issues that come up, just try to deal with them the same way if they repeat themselves, and come up with some basic rules to work off. If you have any questions just shoot me a PM.
