I can`t help you with the FI questions, but I would likely just "bite the bullet", and buy a Jerico right from the beginning. I have a 85 5.0 Mustang, and like you I just wanted to get racing it as soon as possible, on a budget. Well, after the first year, I had several broken, wounded and patched up factory T5 transmisisons in my garage. Since then I have bought a good used Jerico, and haven`t looked back. I also have a Jerico in my 10.0 ET bracket car, (I bought that one used as well, over 10 years ago) and between the 2 cars, over 8 years of racing in the bracket Fairmont, and 4 years in the Mustang, I have not broken a single part in either trans. PLUS, I could likely sell them for what I bought them for. Probably the best investments I`ve made in race parts.

Rick,
I have built and raced 3 stockers with the 4.3 and tbi. I recommend you use a Holley Commander 950 ecu to control the fuel injection. I would be glad to help you get started. The 454 throttle body is larger than the 262 and 350 throttle bodies.

BOB, thanks for the info, I knew that holley makes g.m.'s tbi's, and now that I think of it, that makes perfect sense. Do they sell the ecu and wiring seperate? Maybe just buy a used set up and use what I need.Email me at racerrick2881@yahoo.com. RORY, I agree with you 100% about buying the best parts for the job the first time, but with only an estimated 275 hp at the most I feel a t-10 or a m-22 would work, but that would be just a starting point. A jerico or a g-force is on the list. My biggest starting point on this project will be talking Dana into giving up her S-10. No a/c, maual steering, rubber floor mat, slow 4 cylinder with a 5 speed. I'm more than willing to buy her a full size chevy, loaded! Still no. I figure if I get her the full size truck, I can use it to go racing will she uses my cold a/c automatic fully loaded oldsmobile delta 88 will I'm out.She can even use my 68 delta 88 convertible. Women, can't live with them, can't get them to do anything you want.HELP ME! STOCKERS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rick.

Rick,
Holley will sell you the ecu, wiring and sensors as a kit to use with your stock fuel injection.
