DPS Ticket Writer from your post your ego is just a little to big for you just because you carry a gun and have a little authority in YOUR STATE!!!!!!!!!!!
Why not go after the REAL CRIMINALS!!!!!!!! Or are they a little to tough for you? You had rather HASSLE a regular citizen!!!!!!!!!!!!! The people who go to this forum are just looking for information and not as a way to break the law. I agree there are some rigs that are unsafe but the majority of the unsafe rigs are commercial trucks and mostly the drivers. I travel across the country regularly and the way some commercial truckers drive is a real criminal act. You are new to the forum as listed from your posts and you need to get a clue and hang your BIG EGO next to the computer before you start typing. The EGO'S your profession is known for is part of the problem with some people not respecting your profession. Respect gains Respect period. Been There And Done That. My 2 Cents |

DPS Ticket Writer has been removed along with his post. I had a hunch there was something wrong with this dude when I approved the membership.
He will not be back.

As Jeff said, all we want is to get from point a to b legally. In my meeting with the State Rep. we discussed permits and other ideas. I guess I should have mentioned that in my original post. I was not asking for special treatment as DPS donut guy said. Just make it easier for a non commercial vehicle to get down the road. I have no problem with buying a trip permit or a yearly permit. All regulations that I have been able to find only pertains to commercial vehicles. Since we cannot register as commercial then add something to the regulations that will give us and all DPS units some clear guidlines.
Also, Admin. let DPS guy post again. We haven't had any body to pick on since Munson doesn't post anymore. |

Sorry Everyone, I did not intend to respond so poorly. I could not beleive how this person could have missed our intentions so badly. Anywho, I get an annual overlegnth permit every year down in Florida without being a CDL. It's 20 bucks. I am happy to comply, but when a person that our tax dollars go to becomes so petty, I am not real good at keeping my mouth shut or suger coating. Ya Think!

I printed and plan to carry the regulations listed for the states with me from now on.
One question I have is as I travel across the country I see the triple hooked trailers and the way they whip across lanes even without a cross wind. How in the world do these states allow the triple hooks which end up at close to 100 ft in length travel on the roads? Missouri is one of those states where I see these all the time I believe and Missouri has a 60 ft limit. Are the laws outdated or what? The triple hook setups just have never made sense to me due to safety concerns. My 2 Cents |

Jeff,
I do not have the that information, I would have gladly let the Class Racer community know the location of this pathetic individual. He is obviously a bitter person.

Several months ago I had posted information on this subject after doing research and speaking to Motor Vehicles a Federal official etc.. I have been in the Trucking Industry a long time and have some experience dealing with overlength issues. Do a search here on the site.Maybe there might be some information that will help. By the way what I did find out is that all state laws are generally different. Pat I. SG1809 |
