I wouldn't be surprised to see extra charges for preferred pitting, etc., or pits for large rigs with multiple cars.
What would you guys think about putting something together and giving it to NHRA thru the Sportsman Council with some positive suggestions for things they could do to soften the blow for sportsman racers? We have the forum, we should use it.

You may just be able to do that here.... If you didn't know NHRA people look at this site all the time (HI Dave) and see what we are complaining about. HOWEVER they still do not do anything about it. Just like that stupid Sportsman Advisory Council. That was just a ploy for NHRA to get our annoying asses off their backs and onto someone else. You can lead NHRA to water but you cant make them drink (they would rather drown) No matter what we say and what we want they continue to do what ever they want to do and screw who ever they want to screw to benifit themselves ..... Show it in numbers, all they care about is money and spectators ... well by not lowering the spectator gate prices that should take care of that, and as far as money the economy should slow down the racer traffic, so good If NHRA does not want to bend to help out everybody and have consideration for the venders then they will eventually be kising our *** to come back racing (when they finally realize we "sportsman racers" make NHRA possible) You can lead NHRA to water but you can't make em drink (they would rather drown) Last edited by sc1153; 01-12-2009 at 09:06 AM. |

Good post Chris...... got my pee steaming now........... but I can only back you on your statements and see no need to add to them......
With hope, NHRA will see and hear what the Sportsman Racers have to say........ it is the Sportsman Racer that supports and keeps NHRA rolling........ but that hope is fading in a lot of racers these days..... fortunately, there are a lot of well run local tracks where we can go for half the entry and twice the purse...... Unfortunately, there are a lot of guys like me that are willing to pay the gate and get nothing back just to hang out with good people for a weekend......... but I seriously think I may be reconsidering at this point....... my partners in Bean Town are probably smiling now.......... LOL OH!!....... AND YES!!!........ I truly believe that the SRAC is a joke........ |

The Sportsman Council accomplished only one thing as far as I can tell, the oil down penalty. .....Other than that, it seems to be powerless. .......When someone like Woodro Josey resigns from it because their requests are falling on deaf ears, that says something!.....If you havent read Woodro's post on the S/SS side, you should. ......Tom

The only thing stronger than Chuck Norris is the NHRA.

In the 2009 rule book their seems to be a rather loose interpretation of the Oil Down Rule.. (page 47) Last edited by Bob Verwold; 01-13-2009 at 10:41 AM. Reason: correction |
