A 1099 is not needed under $600 you are supposed to still claim the money but the 1099 is not needed. Now they may need to do it for the companies tax purpose so they can write it off. I am not familiar with that side of it.
I agree if it was $1000 per race for naming rights. But there is no reason to turn down any extra money some one may want to put in.

Instead of worrying about a sponsor, we had better concentrate on getting more than 16 cars at BIR, then we can worry about someone to help pad our payout.I need a sponsor to help me buy diesel to get to the track! How about this, I'll be a sponsor, if the winner or runner-up has a furnace or AC put in by me, I'll pay contigency. So now you have a sponsor, so lets get to BIR and race with a full field.

Now THATS a great idea. The racers are going to have to support and help out on these circut races. I dont have a business to promote but will be paying $100 to win and $50 runner up at the $10,000 race that Lee Zane and Vanpoppel are putting on here on the east coast just to show support for class racing. I hope more of your fellow racers in your area will step up and help out in some small way. It dosent have to be big or a lot. You only get out what you put into it these days with the lesser payouts at the NHRA events. Good luck to all.

Hey Joe,

Do you think you could find your way up to northern WI? For the three days a year we need AC, my wife wants it so we should talk.

That's what I was thinking about. One of the excuses guys use on not going to certain races is because of low payout, well wouldn't $100 to win $50 r/u help.

Well then if you want $100 win and $50ru you had better find a few businesses like mine and then support them, then try to talk them into it. Its a two way street!
