On a side note, if NHRA was to get with the times, they would get rid of Pro Stock Bike and replace it with Pro Modified.[/QUOTE]

As long as KOW-A-SUCKIE and SUCK-A SUKIE throws money at NHRA they wont be going anywhere.

I do think how funny it is that NHRA is banking off an original IHRA class from 15-20 years ago and IHRA is the one that is in "BIG" trouble. Pro Mod, T/S, T/D all IHRA original classes that NHRA has taken and used for profit. I really think Comp is the one in trouble if this all goes down. IHRA got rid of the "Modified Production" class a few years ago and have all the classes still there. You look at it this way, maybe at a National Event Comp draws between 24 and 36 cars thats $9,720 for 36 cars plus if there is any crew you need to get in. T/S and T/D is about 32 to 45 cars deep per class. As long as NHRA doesn't give them special deals and make them "not pay" they make out in the deal. Say the 1st T/D and T/S race they have draws 45 cars in both classes. Thats $24,300 for total entries into the race plus crew giving NHRA a extra $ 14,500 if they drop Comp and add T/D and T/S to their pocket books. They would lose out if they drop Stock, SS, the .90 Classes cause between all of those classes they draw about 65 to 110 cars PER CLASS. Like I said I don't want to see any classes get dropped and I hope nobody does but, you know it's going to happen. They already hurry up and run everyone on Thursday and Friday in the sportsman classes and if you can't sit and watch 8 pairs of each .90 class and Stk and SS on a Saturday/Sunday do you really belong at the track? If people only knew how close some of that racing really is...down to the ten-thousanths of a second in some races...when was the last time you saw that in T/F? Just my 14 cents...

As a Comp., SS, and Stock hardcore fan, I would welcome TD/TS only if they replaced SC, SG, and S/ST where contested. The simple fact is that throttle stops are BORING. The only time that I leave the stands is when SC, SG, or S/ST is running; I refuse to watch them. Just my 2 cents.

I'm 22, and its horrible to think that something like removing Stock, Super Stock, and Comp could happen. I wanna race in Super Stock and Comp so bad, but I need time. I have a few years left in college and I won't have the finances to fund any project until I graduate. I grew up with sportsman classes and I love them to death. I won't even go to a National Event unless Comp, Super Stock, and Stock are there.

But I will say this, it is NHRA's own fault that fans can't connect with the sportsman classes. They park everyone in the boonies, they never do any major marketing to promote divisionals, and no one does anything to explain the classes to the incoming fan. We all know that "pop and bang" will bring the most fans out, but things could be much better with better promotion.

Bill, as a former super stocker ( late seventies) and a super comper (eighties, nineties and up till Katrina) I couldn't agree more. I been trying to finish a stocker but I would be worried if I had a super class car. I believe the writings are on the wall.

BTW I was going to tell you to look me up at Indy , Bourgeois will not finish his new motor in time so we are going to set this one out unless someone throws a ride his way.

Those statements have so much truth in them it hurts.
