Would you have a problem if NHRA put the new cars in a FX class with at least resonable indexes.

I would have to wonder why for the last 10 years my old car 69 440-6 suffered behind the bowties and blue ovals, and my new car is faster by the same amount than my old car was slower, and now everybody wants vengance. Where was the concern over the last 10 years. I guess it's ok for me to be slow, but not to be fast. What am I missing here. I guess it's ok for the specs on my old car to be out of date, but it's not ok for the new cars.

Jeff, is this the same 440/6 pack that Mr. Wann ran in his GTX, if so then may be you need to look at your car or engine builder because if i remember seeing some Q-sheets a few years ago he didn't lose many heads ups and was always a top qualifier.

He's right Jeff. If you had used the west coast rulebook you could have been fast all along. Now that you're using the west coast class guide everyone has their panties in a wad.

Maybe this can answer the question why MR Teuton GTX or road runner was slow. BOISE, Idaho - Final order after 6 rounds of qualifying in Stock Eliminator at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Northwest Division, 34th annual Napa Auto Parts Ignitor at Firebird Raceway:
Psn--Num--Class-Driver, Home Town, Machine-----------------ET---Index---(+/-) 1 7980 B/SA Steve Wann, Modesto CA, '70 GTX 10.358 11.93 -1.572 I wonder what that car would have run like at Bella Rose? |

Jeff the BIG hole in the hood isn't worth all that much, but I do like the plastic hood on the 691/2 for weight off the nose.

Because it's easier them to gain an advantage by whining and crying than it is to go to work or build a new car.

Did you run the same 440 6-pack that came in the 1970 GTX?

Jeff, you Nut,
Don't you know that only the guys that "researched the rulebook" to come up with a "killer" combination are permitted to go fast. There must be some unwritten stock eliminator code some where that says that. Or maybe it should say, "only applies to a class that only some special individuals participate in. Old and fast sounds good to me. See you Thursday, Wayne Kerr |
