When watching us (S/SS) run especially in qualifying, which is confusing to the average spectator seems like a problem that could be addressed. No spectators leads to no races. It used to mean something to be the fastest guy. It just made the other racers step up there game. I truly don’t know what the answer should be. But hopefully we can get the answer soon before we lose the fans. I still love these 2 classes. They are what what started every other class. Maybe some sort of a qualifying Wally would perk everybody up.

How about if NHRA keeps track of all top qualifier's at all Nat. events. At the end of the year the person with the best average gets a plaque for "performance",and some cash if any mfg's would be willing to step up.This way you don't give qualifying pts.that would affect the Championship, but still recognize performance...gsa612

The pros get points for qualifying. What’s wrong with the sportsman. Just saying.

I will never get to be the low qualifier. But why punish other people just because you can’t be the low qualifier.?

A thousand dollars for #1 qualifiers would certainly effect the AHFS corrections on many combos.

Here is what Division 5 has for qualifying bonus and points at divisional races. #1 of each category at the end of the season, receives a champion style jacket and custom embroidered hat for their accomplishments. Also for the #1 qualifier at select divisional races money from Fast Shocks.

I won that award the first year it came out in D5 but can't remember the sponsor that started it or the year. Old age is setting in fast , lol , but it was a good program. |
