![]() Jack, back in the day, what kind of maintenance did a 4-speed Hemi race car like yours require? Bearing change every 20 runs as per Chrysler Tune-Up Tips (remember those?) recommended? M68

Them that could shift well and had a (VERY GOOD) oiling systen had longer bearing life. I was very luckey as never lost an engine due to bearings, but had a few cranks brake at thrust main in the SS/E conv. as it went 4280lbs at 8000 rpm's on launch. From half of crank wanted to go but back half could not keep up I guess |

I know the question was asked a long time ago, but I can now answer yes I'm back on the front end machine,doing what is now fun and not trying to put food on the table.
Old drag racers never fade away,, just keep coming back for more . |

Dick Shipley supplied a 340 a/t conv for the project.After I had sold the 68 he and Vernon Rowley said I could not stop and they pushed me into building the conv. The car was put toghter with all leftover parts which I had from the 68 and the P/S. I ran it local for a year or two then sold an gave up till now.Looking into doing a nostalgia S/S stick Plymouth of some sort, but would like to sell my 65 ElCamino first.Want a Hemi car,colne not an orignal, too costley to own for this use. Do not know if Centolanza's was factory. Could have been as it was raced way before mine |
