This one's for the old timers. Someone mentioned this car in the "Cool Race Car Names" thread.
Chris Lang brought his D/Gasser Corvette to a big modified and super stock race at Ringgold, Georgia in 1974. I snapped this photo with my slide camera. The track was very slick and they were pouring down the rosin to try and get a bite. This was the most beautiful race car I had ever seen at this time. Wayne. ![]() |

I remember that car from Capitol Raceway in the late 60's, early 70's. I got to know Chris about 1976, when I bracket raced at 75-80, Capitol, and Cecil County. The Super Coupe 34 Ford replaced the Vette, about 1978. I would see him every week, when he ran Super Pro. I heard later that he moved to Florida, and built a 1954 Vette, called Back to the Future. That was about 1985, and haven't heard, or read about him after that. I hope he is doing well, where ever he is. He was a national show winner and long time Gas Eliminator racer. I think that was the first D/G car I ever saw break into the 9's.

Here's another shot of the "Malco Super Vette" doing a burnout. There was even a model made of this car.
