Wink Norwalk track news

If you visited Summit Motorsports Park last week you would have seen a massive hole 125 feet long and 4 feet deep halfway down the track!

Decades ago, when the track was built, there was a small stream that meandered across the property and crossed the track at the 660 foot spot. The stream was filled in with dirt, but the track was never completely flat and the only solution to do it right "the Bader way" was to dig it out and start over.

The crew worked a grueling straight 36-hour shift to dig out the old fill dirt, pack in fresh rock, and pave over the smooth the track.

And that's not all. With a strong base the Baders were determined to give racers a glass-smooth surface so fans get the best show possible, and the track was paved with a high-tech polymer-infused surface. Then it was leveled with a GPS system that uses readings from all 24 American and 11 Russian GLONASS GPS satellites to measure the surface height to a tolerance of less than 4 millimeters! Come see the new track at the B'laster Cavalcade of Stars Presented by Budweiser, May 16-18. R
