TNT Super Series returns to Canadian soil this Sunday at Toronto Motorsports Park!
CAYUGA, ONTARIO (June 15, 2008) This Sunday June 22nd marks the first of four consecutive Canadian events in the 2008 Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series schedule. The KC Auto Parts sponsored event will bring the best the area has to offer in heads up sportsman drag racing competition to Toronto Motorsports Park(TMP). Last year’s event winner - Jamie Stoneman - is just one of the competitor’s who will be there on Sunday. The Gorman Enterprises sponsored, Stoneman Racing entry had a great season in 2007 and is looking to charge hard for the 2008 TNT points championship. And to prove just how prepared this team is, all you have to do is look at last week’s one & only qualifying session at Dunn Tire Raceway Park. The team posted a perfect 7.000 before Mother Nature forced us to postpone the event.
Series Coordinator Bill Barnes (aka The Clapper) is very excited about the TNT Series returning to TMP. “There are a lot of TNT racers who call TMP home. It’s an excellent facility and they always treat us well,” said Bill. Qualifying will begin at 11:30 and there will be two sessions. “Get there early, especially anyone who plans on entering both TNT Hot Rod and the bracket classes.”
Every TNT event including June 22nd guarantees a minimum of $500 to win, rewards #1 qualifier with a $50 Hoosier Canada certificate, pays $25 round money for EVERY round win, posts contingency money for both winner & runner-up and counts for points towards lucrative TNT yearend awards.
Also just announced – A ninth event has been added to the 2008 TNT Super Series schedule. Wednesday July 16th the TNT Series will join the Pro Modified Racing Association’s event at TMP. Further details on this event will be released shortly.
Last week’s race at Dunn Tire Raceway Park was rained out – Look for the re-scheduled date to be announced shortly.
