Default grand bend monday

is this right, the remaining cars on monday morning were given a time run before resuming eliminations?!?! the rest of us went 36 hours between our last qualifier and first round, while waiting for the pitiful "pro" eliminations to run until completion. first round at 8pm sunday because of endless oildowns.
sure, there were apologies from the announcer, but that was just plain racer abuse. I guess we race for SPEEDTV now, even though the sportsmen aren't even included in the show...
Where's Bill Bader when you need him? the real people at these races are awesome(Hank, Baker, and so on) but the management is starting to show it's true colors. maybe this will get me in some trouble, but who cares, most of us can't afford to do these low paying races anymore. expenses are up, purses haven't changed in ten years, and contingency money is shrinking.?????

how about that Paula Cambria? kicking butt and taking names--semi final finish with some of the best footbrake/stockers in the world! Great job!

Paula is doing great. And I am taking it from everybody. The announcer said on her last run Here is Paula Cambria and she is driving better than her husband.Geez I went to the semi finals in the super stock national last week, doesnt that count? Guess not.Well I am so proud of her.She is sawing the tree down and learning every day.I hope I dont have to race her she will kick my *** every time----my kids won't even cheer for me.I guess I will become Bill Grubbs to Paula's Brenda. At least I can drive the rig.

Oh yea and Sammy I guess you will be parking in the corn field at the next event.
I do have a question though. On a night like Friday when the pros were done early and the weather was good and the forcast said rain for saturday why not run sportsman after the pro show until curfew? Why not take advantage of every bit of good weather to run the sportsman who are not part of the TV stuff anyway?Just a thought.
This whole fuel thing has taken a real toll on racing in both places not just IHRA.The numbers are down all over. Our local track is doing well and many of the racers are just not spending the money to travel.I know a dozen guys who used to be at every race and I have not seen them at any this year.Maybe it is time to reval the whole program.People talk about missing Top Stock wheelstanders, nitro cycles.

It was a long, frustrating weekend to say the least. The thing I didn't get was why the heck did we get a TT on Saturday. We never get one on Sat, let alone with weather threatening?

"even though the sportsmen aren't even included in the show..."

I'm not real happy myself with SPEED after they "lost" the final round of Scott's Summitt Allstar win this year and was excluded from the coverage after we told all our friends and family to tune in. Aaron was very appologetic about it but I never heard anything from SPEED. And I have my doubts now whether they really could manage to lose only that one round of racing. Obviously it wasn't very important to them or they would have taken time to email me and appologize themselves. That makes me think they cut us out as we're "lowest on the pole" to fit the rest of their program into the schedule.

I think IHRA made the right call at PRP two weekends ago by running first round of Sundays race on Saturday night - that definately helped them get that race in. They messed up on the Grand Bend decision though - glad we weren't there.

I concure - Paula is kicking all you boys arses Ha ha - you guys got beat by a girl!!!

Paul, its really not a bad job, especially if you can get the checks out of their hands.
