What steps can we take to convince divisional personal to change qualifying order for points races?
I ask this because of record runs(super stock).By the time we run our first attempt which is around 11or 12 o'clock the good morning air is gone(Atco). Any suggestions? Thanks, Dan. |

Dan,
The run order is established by the division director (or his representative) at the divisional events. However, the track owner is the guy (or gal) that has all of the $$$ on the table. If enough racers POLITELY request that the track owner or track manager speak to the division director, the run order can be changed. As a former record holder, I completely understand what good air means for a record run, and I have a very good working relationship with our D-4 director. He may not like to change the run order, but he is open to negotiation. In my opinion, the best run order for record runs is: Stock Super Comp (to put rubber back over the bald spots made by stock) Super Stock Comp Eliminator (for record runs) Super Street Super Gas Top Sportsman Top Alcohol Funny Car Top Alcohol Dragster Motorcycle Top Dragster This run order is the most efficient to maintain good starting line rubber. While some may argue for a different order to accomodate certain classes, ain't nothing worse than to spin at the line... While we have had a problem on several occasion, since we run dragster before super stock, the bite has been most effective. Track operators need to remember that. Pat "No Problem" Joffrion |

I would also like to see, Stock and SS swapped, first out. One class on Friday and 1 on Sat in the best of all worlds
Just my opinion...it has been done Quite a few years ago in Houston, they called all Record runs (S & SS) first out one of the mornings, it was quite a show, and many racers watching...the year one of the Checkmate cars went straight up (and down)...I don't think anyone complained about qualifying order, but maybe someone did...I've never seen it since |
