With no funny car classes(i.e. less time to run the pro's) and the reduced car counts, they might not have a problem getting all this in on saturday, even with the sportsman shootouts. You're probably better off to go to Rockingham on Saturday morning and plan on racing on Monday morning anyways! LOL
I think they should run a Saturday morning time run at all national events, I believe it will entice a few more cars to come in on Saturday morning. |

It was a pleasant surprise at Baton Rouge to not only get a 3rd time shot Friday, but also a 4th on Saturday!
I'm sure Rockingham will have more cars, but I welcome the schedule change and will keep my fingers crossed for nice weather and minimal down-time.

Rockingham last fall was no different than Pomona back in February, it was a bad deal for everyone involved w/ both sanctioning bodies. I think the Saturday morning qualifying shot is good thing and applaud IHRA for going back to the way things were in the past. I know many occasions where racers would have entered on Sat. morning if they had a time shot. Now if we could just work on contingencies!

I think it is a great idea as well to add the time trial on Saturday.

At the end of each of the final qualifying sessions for each class.
It's printed on the Saturday portion of the schedule. http://www.ihra.com/nitrojam/results...e_schedule.pdf |
