Default Stocker Oil Pan ?

What is the best "out of the box" SBC oil pan available? Obviously, we have to run a stock appearing pan. I prefer one that already has the trap and screen installed, to save a little bit of fabrication time. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Wade, I'm not sure which one is best. However here is the list of aftermarket oil pans that are accepted by NHRA for Stock.

It will work, but don't use the windage tray with it. What I have used is a stock pan and taken out the flat tray that is in the bottom leaving a rearward facing strip to keep oil back on deaccelleration. Looks like a Z28 pan without the side strips for the windage tray. Better is early vette pan, to 62 has longer sump but was discontiued 2-3 years ago.. got all that was left and they are gone. some of the pans on the list for SBC are good for stock, just need to tell yourself, an empty pan is a happy pan... don't go crazy with trays and screens. Anything that wraps around with the crank will keep oil in \ on the crankshaft and will slow it - rob power...
