Default Question on MSD Ignition

I am looking for some help on how to program an MSD Programmable Digital-7 Ignition, part number PN7530T. I bought a stick shift stocker with this ignition in the car and need help to try to program the burnout RPM, launch RPM, and shift points. Do I need to do this with a laptop computer? Do I need a special program? Will I need to purchase more parts from MSD to program it? I only know a little bit about computers so I am looking for some help. I haven't run the car yet and want to make sure that everything is set up correctly so when I do run it I won't damage anything. I haven't raced in 16 years and I am an old school racer.

Thanks
Ronn

Wink Re: Question on MSD Ignition

You should have gotten a small CD with the Digital 7, if not you can download the software from MSD. Yes you will have to use a laptop to set-up all of the parameters. It is really easy to do. You can get an MSD hand held monitor but they are about $200.00. I have one and have never used it, I use a laptop.
