Default Norwalk??

We are considering going to Norwalk for the National event, but while there at the divisional we heard some stories about the Nationals. Is it true that spectator campers are mixed in with the sportsmen in the grass pits. We got to pit on the pavement at the divisional and we never went over to the other side. What do ya'll who have been there have to say about it?
Thanks,
Patsy

Patsy, It is true that the spectators are on the end of the area where the sportsman racers park, but it didn't seem to be a problem when I was there 2 years ago. The did realize that they had allowed some of the campers to park before some of the late arriving racers, hence having them mixed in, but they were supposed to have remedied that situation.

Hey Bruce, thanks for the info. When we were there for the divisional, someone, (I think it was Dave Edwards) said it was really bad last year.

So, Bruce, when are you going to come back and race with us?

Yes there were a few joy rides, I myself experienced that at the Div. race, golf cart missing broad daylight, luckily found it almost immediately. This is my home track , I live 17 miles from the place and had never once in 20 plus years of racing there had a problem. I suppose there's always someone who just can't resist helping themselves. However for the most part it is a great facility and a nice place to race. Just be very diligent in protecting your belongings. Hope to see you there. Joe

Hi Patsy - Tom and Joe are correct. The last two years the spectators with motorhomes where at the end of the sportman pits and along the fence. About 1:00 am on Saturday they played bumper cars with golf carts and trash cans. The irony of it all was that one of the golf carts they had stolen from the Norwalk Security guys. I witnessed the whole thing. Bader assured us that it would not happen this year. If you can, park in the area before you get to the campgrounds. The campgrounds are fenced in and although you will get some noise and smoke it is better than further back. Don't let this keep you away from a great race!

Is their a law preventing a racer from maiming a spectator for stealing a golf cart?

Only if they catch you doing it Larry. Just don't let anyone see you, and have an alibi.

Not sure, I thought about Joliet, but then that all changed and I just raced my zero turn around the yard.
