Default 502 Lifter Question

I have a mid 90's 502 with non adjustable rocker arms that came from the factory with a flat tappet hydraulic cam rated at 440 hp. The cam and lifters were sold a lond time ago. Does this block take the stock height hyd. lifter that is used in all the old MARK IV blocks or does it take a taller flat tappet lifter? I'm fairly sure that any roller cam installed in this block needs the tall lifters because of tiebar clearence. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ----- Thanks

I think you can use any std solid or hydraulic lifter but if it's a roller it needs the taller lifters as the lifter bosses are +.300". The onlyte thing you might need to check is if the lifter hangs down to far and uncovers the oil passages on the lifter body. I built a 502 for a customer a long time ago so I don't really recall the cam details but I think it was a rolller and we used the tall lifters.

Flat tappets are same as any BBC. The roller lifters are only ones different have to be taller so tie bars clears tall lifter bosses.
