can you run an automatic transmission behind a 1969 chevy 302 in super stock GT?

I would assume so with the 'any transmission/engine combo' rule revision from a few years ago...

I am pretty sure that the 302 combo was not available with an automatic transmission.
this is a good combo to run as it has not been hit to hard.

The classification page for 69 Chevrolets indicates: In GT, the 302 can only be used with Manual Transmission.
