Talking Live from Cecil County-NHRA Lucas Oil Series

Good evening boys and girls - Did you miss me? Did you think I was not coming? Business kids ,just business -- besides it would have been the same 'ole crap -- it rained - then they dried the track-- then it rained again and they dried the track again - after that the Sun came out but not before they called it for the day-- see what I mean .Anyway ,I know for sure some did miss me - take Johnny D. for example - he probably had no one to banter with and was bored the last two days .And poor Eddie F. had not a soul to pick on him in my absence - what will he do ? Maybe Barak will write and complain about him .

Anyway I'm finally here and guess what greeted me--well you're wrong--you thought it was rain but you're wrong--it was "Uncle Buck" who greeted me tonight with his merry band of SuperGassers and some of the finest ribs I've ever had -- 'ya gotta love a guy who shows up with not one Bar-b-q pit on wheels but two -- count 'em -- two jumbo cookers and all the trimmins .And enough adult beverages to sink the Titanic again .

Saturday will hopefully be better than today as it was a total wash and God willing Mr.Lang and Company can get this deal rollin' in time to finish before Sunday night as scheduled .

I'll drop a few lines in the morning...........'till then -- nighty-night .

PS-- Just for the record - its 12:05 am and yes , its raining ! ! !

Well Jack, its not raining here in Bowling Green. Ok, so maybe it did yesterday till about noon and then everyone got one run before they went into their Sportsnats rainout race from earlier in the year. They also had super class shootout. I runner-upped and by 11:30 was quite tired and couldn't see any more. Last I heard, they were still racing and all I know is that Edmond Richardson was in the final with both his Stock and SC cars. Not sure who won as the The only thing I was watching was the backs of my eyelids.

Eddie, I've been dying to use this, so...

Can't believe it but no rain what-so-ever has fallen this morning (OK - maybe a couple drops here and there). That being said final prep work is bein done on the track and they've called SuperStreet to the lanes .................And the fog - well it speaks for itself and hopefully will burn off .

Times being what they are even Cecil County is trying to squeeze every bit of use out of their equipment ,,,,,,,,

Jack, keep the reports coming. On Thursday I hated my job beacause I was stuck at work. Friday I was thanking my job for not having to make the trip to Cecily Cty in the rain. Oh the emotions... Rumor has it there was a George Cottell sighting. Please confirm. Good luck to all who made the trip and hope you get the race in.

Jack,
You should have gotten a pic of the back of the truck, there is enough glue caked up on the back to resurface the track 20x times over. Thanks for the reports once again..

Started racing at 12:45. Cloudy, but no rain... Some weepers (BTW I hate that word) in between, but S/ST, stock, and first call for S/C at 1:00

That spot is gold in my eyes. It'll just have to wait till next year.Hope the rain stays away and everyone going to Indy can take a nice slow ride there.

Somehow even with the rain delays everyone got their shot in tonight and the fields are set for tomorrow morning at 8:30 starting with S/Street and then Stock .Some interesting match-ups...Katie Sepanik vs Pires jr ....Skipper vs Fetch and then a couple of heads-ups...G/SA Wilgus( who broke a rear today ) vs Curcio and A/SA Pagano( who's car sounded terrible coming back from his TT ) vs Horensky .68 car field ...other notables ........Steve Szupka v Tex Miller ...Lenny Williams v Mickey Whaley -- this should be an enjoyable show to watch .

S/Stock -- 50 car field .....notables ...T.Worner vs Fetch ... Lisa vs Tripp....Hanley vs Mattola ..Antonette vs M.Barsky....Piacentini vs Simmons....no heads-ups .

As I'm typing this its raining with some lightning going on -- so whats new ?They say all of this "stuff" is going to pass during the night and Sunday should be a beautiful day -- we'll see ! ! ! No Fletchers in S/S ...Hmmmmm .

Joey De -- you bet Mr. Cottell is here this weekend in the flesh -- you probably sent him in your place .

Johnny D. -- you've been extremely quiet all day -- whats -up ? Gimme a little help here I'm dyin' .......nothin' but rain to talk about .....

For those inquiring minds who want to know -- Uncle Buck had both Turkey and Ham on the spit tonight .......
