A 1970 Nova can not run double A. It breaks 8.65 making it a natural B car up A down C.He was DQed on wrong class before tear down.

This was posted on another thread. Is it true that a "70 nova can't run AA/SA because of the wt.? Or has Drag Race Central just got the class wrong because Luke is in the system that way?

Last year I had a 70 nova 402/375 steel head and its natural class was B/SA. Could only run A/Sa to C/SA. I do believe with the aluminum head it can get into AA/sa.

Joe,
Isn't it true that the addition of aluminum heads only adds HP and weight, it does not change the factor. A 70 nova is a B car and cannot run AA by the way I see the factors. Just makes me wonder if it is a DRC mistake because you don't get much by that NHRA tech Crew that is at that race.

Sorry for the delay but I've been pretty busy and didn't see this until now.

I just checked the NHRA sheets and they do show the car in AA/SA though I evidently missed the year as it is listed as a 69.

I will make sure to check the tech card when I get to the track tomorrow morning. I apologize for any confusion,

Thanks Dan,
That makes things look better. The 69 Nova 396/375 al head carries a 8.45 factor in the guide. I think that makes it a natural "A" car. So a move up to AA is OK.
Thanks for the DRC reports. It's nice to see what is happening when your stuck at home.
