I am considering getting a s/c type dragster, in a nutshell what is the basic differences in the solid, 4 link, slip joint, swing arm, etc. Without getting to deep into the theory of each design. Thanks craft

Just got my new 4 link dragster out finally, the best thing i can tell you is after 12 years of hard tails and slip joint cars(all were new when i drove them) there is no reason not to have suspension on a dragster. They stop significantly safer/faster=no bouncing and driving them back to the trailer is nice and smooth. They also seem to be more consistent but i only have 3 races on the new car as of now,all of the 60 ft and 330 ft increments are dead on run after run.....finish varies

I have had 2 4-links and never drove a hardtail. I recall watching hardtails bouncing off the track trying to stop at one track I race at and always said I'd never drive one because of that. Suspended cars are the only way to go. Some people favor the swingarm or x-link bottom arrangement as it eliminates the wishbone track locator. Stopping and top end stability is considered better with the x or swingarm and is one less item to worry about failing......If I was getting a new car I would talk with some car builders about what they think and the feedback they get from racers using their cars. My conventional 4-link is a RaceTech and does not do anything that makes me want to change it.....The owner of Race Tech did tell me the x-link was a good option for top end braking stability....
