I'd like to put lighter front disc brakes on the old nova. I know I could go after market but, what other chevy models might fit?
Thanks, John |

Uncle John,
I do not know of any OE brake change out of any weight advantage. Also, do your home work and carefully research the options before buying. Some of the weigh savings can be false savings because of poor brake life. Make sure you buy quality and well engineered components. Uncle Larry

John; Check out the Stainless Steel Brake Corp. web site "ssbrakes.com" they have race calipers that bolt right on your disc brake spindles. Put a front set on my Camaro Stocker, they weigh the same as the old drum brakes and work a whole lot better. The company is also a contingency sponsor for IHRA.

Thanks for the info. It would be nice to have better braking force at 125 MPH. John

John,
I have been thinking about you brakes, the factory ft disc system "should" do a good job. Those 75 Nova fr discs are the same as all G body systems, a solid, proven system. Maybe the rear brakes are where your upgrade money needs to go. Also, double check the basics, pedal ratio? line pressure at the caliper? which master are run using? condition of the rear brakes? AnyWho, give the complete brake system a check over and some thought. Consider talking with some brake manufacturers about your needs. Larry
