Looking to purchase new winch for the trailer, noticed a lot of cheap winches (Vortex, Tmax, Chicago electric, etc), anyone had any experience with these? Any comments appreciated, thanks, Joe.

I've got an ancient Warn winch (first installed by the original owner in my trailer, circa 1990). It spent a week underwater in a flood, and worked for a while when the water receded. It later seized up, and I took it into Warn (which happened to be 5 miles from where I had just moved). I was just looking for repair parts, but the lady at their service desk took it in and rebuilt it for me for no charge (while I waited). I'll be a customer for life.
Regards,

If you can drive it in and still open the door, then I would pass on the winch. If you need to push it in just grab 5 other passerbys to help out.

Thanks, I had Superwinch 3500 in my other trailer for 10 yrs w/o any problems, am leaning towards the S4000 for $375, seems to be good value. Doesn't take much to roll 3000lbs car in, not like hanging over cliff in 4WD,LOL.Joe.

Super Wrench 3500 with remote control. Trouble free and One Man operation. You will wonder why you waited so long once you get one.

Go ahead and spring for the S5000. You won't be sorry. You might need the extra power one day. Jim

We have an old s3500 superwinch that is over 10 years old. It is due for a cable and we also wanted to go to the wireless set up so we just bought a S4000 superwinch. I would recommend the superwinch. Old one still works if you want a deal on old faithful.
