,,,a flat hood, 9" tire bracket class? If this ends up being the direction stock takes. This will just end up being another version of the 10.5 tire classes, until interest dries up. You'll just end up with stock suspenioned nightmares with incredibly high cubic inch motors, running insane times on the edge of being out of control. On the other hand, it might be interesting to fans.
I've been watching these last few threads with interest. I already have a bracket car. Reality is, kind of glad I haven't got alot of money invested in my stocker project. At present, it's merely a body and a small pile of parts. I really don't need (or want) another bracket car. With all the doom and gloom talk, I really am questioning the wisdom of pursuing this project. Even though it is just an IHRA crate motor car. As one HRA goes, the other will soon follow.

Don't listen do the BS! Build the car and have some fun. You will meet some really cool folks with VAST knowledge of stock eliminator and some who do not.... If you have screwithititice and you are not lazy then stock is for you. Now get back to work!

i think most of us do it because of the challenge, the desire to drag race,i just have to say that my results last year have been good with running 6 tenths under (now 3 tenths under) ,getting the most out of the combo,it has its self rewards and like barry says ,if you have "screwithititice"that is the fun of it,,,no gloom and doom here "always thinking"what can i do to make this faster who cares what they say , this is cool stuff , gmonde

Barry is right, get in gear and do the car! When conditions are right, drop in the stocker drivetrain and go. You already have a bracket car right? Put that engine in the stocker and get some seat time in the car. If things get bad you can sell one of them. No one on here can predict the future of Stock Eliminator. When undecided, keep working my man!

Thanks guys.
It's a slow cold Indiana night. My Hoosiers just dropped another close one. Almost too cold to go out to the garage and work. With the holidays behind us, just bought a new 70,000 btu ceramic kerosene heater, tis time to get back to work. Just suffering a case of the blahs. My buddy is coming up tommorow morning and we're headed to the swap meet at the fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Just need to get the blood pumping again. Need to find another block for a future bracket engine. Also looking to find a good SBC one piece rear main seal crank and I'll have the basis parts for my 350 - 330hp crate motor. Only lack pistons and rings, cam and lifters. The body still needs the front end, rear end, cage and frame connectors, pretty much just alot of work, well everthing, LOL. The front end, cage and connectors are just a few weekends work, rear end is a trip to Moser. I am a long way from being ready. Just a little concerned about whether a place to run the car (read that as a "class"), will still be around before I get it built. Make no mistake, I'm looking forward to this.
